We come now to the story of modern missionary work in the Loo Choo island. In 1906, Rev. Henry B. Schwartz was appointed a missionary to the islands, the first to reside there since the closing of the Loo Choo Naval Mission fifty-three years before. The picture represents Dr. Schwartz in Japanese dress in a Japanese inn.

さて、琉球列島における現在の布教活動の話に移ります。1906年、ヘンリー・B・シュワルツ牧師が琉球への宣教師に任命され、53年前の琉球海軍伝道会の閉鎖以来初めてこの地へ移り住みました。この写真は日本旅館での和服姿のシュワルツ博士です。
