The full moon, after the summer harvests are over and before sugar-making begins, is the great time for the country villages to get up theatrical performances of some kind. These are purely community affairs. The costumes and properties are owned by the village or the young men's club and the actors are the village people.

夏の収穫が終わった後、砂糖作りが始まる前の満月の日は、田舎の村々にとって一種の芝居を催す絶好の時です。これは純粋に共同体の行事です。衣装や小道具は村あるいは青年会の所有物で、演じるのも村人たちです。
